I guess because they hadn’t anything else better to do Sonny and Cher released their song “Beat Goes On” on this day in 1967. If you have a look at this clip you’ll see that they were having great fun together and you’ll notice just how different Cher looked then to how she looks today! You have to see it to “Believe” it. She’s in pretty good shape for an old lady of 62! How does she do it?
The dancer, singer and all round entertainer Roy Castle tapped his way into the record books on this day in 1973 recording an amazing 1,440 taps per minute according to the BBC TV show that measured his flapping feet. That’s a lot faster than Nomanda can tap out this blog!
The lovely Lindsay Wagner showed the world how the “Bionic Woman” gets stuff done when the series debuted on this day in 1976. There have been others, but have there been better?
You either love them or hate them but today in 1990 marks the day the “Simpsons” premiered. Nomanda is in the latter camp but that won’t stop me giving them a short clip. Oh yes it will!
A cut above the “Simpsons” the actor who portrayed the character “Alf Garnett”, Warren Mitchell (1926), is our first birthday guest today. “Alf” could be described as a bit of a bigot but he was English and proud of it! He even thinks that Jesus was English, have a look at this clip! The country needs more men like “Alf”!
The lovely American actress Faye Dunaway (1941) is our next birthday guest. She made most of her money robbing banks! If you don’t believe me have a look at this clip!
“Big” Bill Weberniuk (1947 – 2003) the Canadian lager drinking snooker professional is our next birthday celebrity. Reputedly he used to drink 6 pints before a game and then cut down to a steady one pint per frame during his matches! If Nomanda did that he wouldn’t be able to stand up to get to the table never mind potting any balls!

For Girls, I know that flowers and chocolates are a bit cliché but nevertheless they always seem to work! Of course, if your budget stretches that far, jewellery, watches, perfume and fashion items are always appreciated!
For Boys, all boys like toys! It’s just as they get older the toys get more expensive. So gadgets and gimmicky things work. Again, if you have the budget then car accessories, sporting equipment and clothes, and man type jewellery like watches and gold chains will go down very well!
And, if all else fails, you could always send them a gift voucher and they can choose whatever they want!
